The play tells the incredible true story of a teenager from Ayrshire, Scotland, who refused to play by society’s sexist rules, and who overcame numerous obstacles, including a lifetime ban in her home country. Instead she became a professional footballer in Italy where she won eight league titles, four Italian Cups and was twice crowned a “golden boot” winner. Rose felt particularly honoured to be able play in Milan, where at just eighteen she signed up with the women’s team of the Milan football club.
